Wolfman as seen on the cover of The Vampire's Assistant

The Wolf Man - A ferocious beast who is half man and half wolf. He performs on stage with the Cirque Du Freak.

The mix of wolf and human blood has driven him mad. For that reason, he must be locked up or else he will continue to kill. He killed Darren's friend Sam Grest and bit off R.V.'s hands, but was knocked out by Mr Crepsley before he could kill Darren. For these reasons, Darren despises (asuming) the Wolfman. The Wolfman is also the reason that R.V. was driven crazy and despised Darren.   Although the wolfman is only a prominent character in the first two boooks he is mentioned throughout the entire series. Because the wolfman could not leave the cirque in the book series he would have taken part in the battle between the vampires and vampaneze and knowing his nature he would have attacked the vampaneze from the very start and would have been killed shortly afterwards. Although this is only a speculation and may  be wrong it is highly likely.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • He is possibly a connection to The Demonata saga, as one of the main themes is lycanthrophy. However this was declined by Darren Shan, as a question asked by a fan at the Darren Shan message boards, Questions for Shan section.
  • It is interesting to note that in Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant (movie) the wolfman seems to be tame, doing exactly what he was told to without hypnosis.
